Tua Tagovailoa Will NOT Wear A Guardian Cap When He Returns To The Field

I'm sorry, what? Tua won’t wear a Guardian Cap? It was literally invented for players like him. Honestly, Tua should be the face of the Guardian Cap in the NFL. All jokes aside, this makes ZERO sense to me. Since entering the league, Tua has missed ten games due to concussions—and played through at least two of them while concussed.

Sure, "technically" he’s only been diagnosed with three concussions, but come on. Anyone with a brain knows he was concussed when we beat Buffalo at home two years ago. So, let’s be real: That’s four concussions in four and a half years. Yet, despite all that, he doesn’t want to wear the one thing designed to help prevent head injuries? I just don’t get it.

What’s holding him back? Is he worried people will see it as a sign of weakness? Because trust me, no one will. If anything, people will see it as the smart, obvious move—taking steps to protect yourself from potential lifelong mental health issues like CTE. Or maybe it’s about keeping his swagger?

If you’re a Dolphins fan, you already know the difference in Tua’s drip—his "aura," as the kids say—compared to his rookie days. Back then, he had no drip. Now? Double arm sleeve tattoos, bright white teeth, a sharp haircut, and a sleek white arm band. And hey, I believe in the whole "look good, feel good, play good" philosophy. But let’s be real—you can’t play good if you’re injured. And if there’s anything that can help prevent the one recurring injury that’s been holding you back, you better wear it!

Refusing to wear a Guardian Cap as a personal choice is absolutely insane. Using the example of people driving cars to justify taking risks in everyday life? That’s just absurd. NEWS FLASH: They invented seatbelts to reduce the risk of injury in car accidents—just like they designed the Guardian Cap to reduce the risk of concussions.

Seriously, come on, Tua—do the right thing. Protect yourself. Nobody wants to see you hurt again. We want you healthy, on the field, leading the Dolphins where we all know you can take them (a playoff win).
